Royal Jet’s Mile-High Dining
By Natasha Dorsainvil

While Royal Jet prohibits German chef Thomas Ulherr from cooking raw meat onboard their private jets, Ulherr has proven that he can bring the bacon home. In last year’s International Culinary Olympics, his talents earned him a total of six medals, half of which were gold. If you’re wondering just how he did it, all you have to do is look at his employer, Royal Jet, better known as the World’s Leading Private Jet Charter for two years in a row.
Preparing mile-high gourmet meals to satisfy Abu Dhabi royalty, foreign diplomats, ministers, business execs, et al is far from preparing commercial grade airline food. The process can be daunting, especially if you’re the chef onboard the private jet. For catering manager and executive chef Ulherr, however, it’s quite the piece of cake. Consider for a moment the fact that Ulherr created a sauvignon and caviar dish that became a top seller at his old restaurant. And, once he parted ways from said restaurant, the place shut down. Now, take Royal Jet, with its distinguished status and high-rolling flyers. The combination of talent and experience on Mr. Ulherr’s part, and Royal Jet’s willingness to provide a fulfilling in-flight experience to its clients, makes the task effortless.
So, whether he’s preparing a guest-specific menu or whipping up a jewel from his recipe box, Ulherr’s creations are sure to please from amuse-bouche to finish.
