The Sport of Flight
By Allison Medoff

Learn to fly a plane in as little as two weeks with Florida’s first Sport Pilot Flight School opened by a group of recent college grads. The plan was developed during a college competition and business is booming up in the real world.
The school is the first of its kind, designed for customer’s to earn their Sport Pilot certificate. The certification created in 2004 has several restrictions and can only operate small two-seater planes, with limited power and shorter range than a Private Pilot certificate. Students train aboard a Remos G3 600 for an all-inclusive price of $2,995. Since learning paces differ from person to person, clients should expect to pay slightly more than expected.
The attractive two-week time period and low cost compared to the Private Pilot, makes it attractive for those wanting to move up to higher certifications. Graduating first from the Sport Pilot should allow for an easier training process in the more rigorous Private Pilot certification.
The school isn’t just attracting newbie’s to the sky. Seasoned veterans are also entering the school as they come down from the air, health and age taking its toll. Whatever the reason may be, many have taken an interest in the Sport Pilot Flight School, and the young businessmen hold plans of expansion for the future.
