Tracking Steve Jobs
By Allison Medoff

When you block out the world, it tries that much harder find its way in. Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc and former CEO of Pixar Animation Studios, has blocked the Federal Aviation Administration from officially tracking his private jet’s flights. Possible reasons for this heightened security on his privacy could be from his company’s unsteady stock price linked to the state of his health. Diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer and on current leave from Apple Inc. for an undisclosed medical condition, he has had aviation buffs looking harder than normal for sights of his plane. Jobs’ 15 seat Gulfstream 5 has a distinctive marking on its tail number, N2N that makes it easy for tracking, regardless of his wishes. The plane has had many sightings, including a flight to Memphis for a liver transplant in March. With a man of his health stature, aviation buffs and internet watchers are curious why he has been frequenting so many trips in the air. Most people say let the man have his privacy.
