Pricing depends on the aircraft, dates and routing. Request a transparent all-in quote at https://www.hautejets.com/request-a-quote or call (800) 257-5661. Rome has strong European aircraft availability, keeping charter pricing competitive.
Ciampino Airport (CIA) is 15 km from Rome city center — approximately 20 to 25 minutes by car to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain. The Vatican is 25 minutes from CIA, approximately 18 km. This compares very favorably to Fiumicino (FCO), which is 35 to 45 minutes from the city center in normal traffic. Haute Jets coordinates ground transportation from CIA for all Rome arrivals.
The Amalfi Coast has no airport — the closest option is Naples International Airport (NAP), approximately 60 km north of Positano and 50 km from Amalfi. From Rome (CIA) to Naples is approximately 45 minutes on a turboprop or light jet. Alternatively, a helicopter can be chartered from Naples to coastal landing pads near Positano or Ravello. Haute Jets can build Rome–Naples–Amalfi helicopter itineraries as a single coordinated booking.
Rome has excellent weather April through October. Peak tourism and private aviation: June through September. The shoulder seasons (April–May and September–October) offer ideal weather with less crowding and competitive aircraft pricing. Easter and Christmas are high-demand religious pilgrimage periods — book 2 weeks in advance. The Rome Marathon (March) and estate (summer) cultural season (Caracalla opera) draw additional international visitors.
Italy is in the EU and Schengen Area. US citizens and most non-EU nationals clear Italian customs at CIA or FCO — typically 10 to 15 minutes through the private terminal. Valid passport required. No visa required for US citizens for Schengen stays under 90 days. Haute Jets submits all APIS passenger data and Italian general aviation declarations in advance for seamless arrival.
