The Bombardier Global 7500 and the Gulfstream G700 are the two large-cabin, ultra-long-range jets most often compared for nonstop intercontinental trips. This guide compares them using only the manufacturers' published specifications, then explains what actually moves a charter quote for either aircraft.

Sources: Gulfstream G700 specifications; Bombardier Global 7500 factsheet. Manufacturer ranges are theoretical. Gulfstream and Bombardier both note that actual range is affected by routing, speed, weather, options and other factors. No charter rates are shown because every trip is quoted individually.
A note on Bombardier's site: the Global 7500 page on bombardier.com now redirects to the newer Global 8000. The Global 7500 figures above come from Bombardier's own Global 7500 factsheet. Many Global 7500s fly in charter fleets today, so confirm the exact aircraft and its configuration with your quote.
Range: almost a tie
Gulfstream lists the G700 at 7,750 nm and Bombardier lists the Global 7500 at 7,700 nm. Both figures use the same basis: Mach 0.85, eight passengers, four crew and NBAA IFR reserves. A 50 nm gap rarely decides a trip. Headwinds, passenger and baggage weight, the departure runway and temperature matter far more on any real city pair, and the operator confirms whether a route works nonstop.
At high-speed cruise, Gulfstream lists 6,650 nm for the G700 at Mach 0.90. Bombardier's factsheet lists Mach 0.90 as the Global 7500's high-speed cruise but does not publish a range at that speed, so we don't compare the two at Mach 0.90.
Cabin, zones and passengers
This is where the two differ most.
- G700: Gulfstream describes it as its largest cabin, with up to five living areas, including an ultragalley and a grand suite with shower in some layouts. The cabin is 56 ft 11 in long (excluding baggage), 8 ft 2 in wide and 6 ft 3 in high, with 2,603 cu ft of volume and 20 Panoramic Oval Windows. It seats up to 19 and sleeps up to 13. Gulfstream lists a cabin altitude of 2,840 ft at 41,000 ft.
- Global 7500: Bombardier describes it as large enough for four true living spaces, with an available master suite with a full-size bed, a dedicated crew suite and a kitchen. The cabin is 54 ft 5 in long, 8 ft 0 in wide and 6 ft 2 in high, and seats up to 19.
Both cabins seat up to 19, but few charter aircraft are set up that way. Most are configured for fewer passengers with more lounge and sleeping space. On a charter, the layout of the specific tail number matters more than the brochure maximum. Ask how many passengers can lie flat, whether there is a private suite, and where the crew rests on a long flight.
Speed
The G700 lists a maximum operating Mach of 0.935 and the Global 7500 a top speed of Mach 0.925. Both cruise at Mach 0.90 in high-speed mode and Mach 0.85 at long-range cruise. In practice the operator chooses the speed for each flight based on distance, winds and fuel.
Runway performance
At sea level, standard temperature and maximum takeoff weight, Bombardier lists a 5,760 ft takeoff distance for the Global 7500 and Gulfstream lists 5,995 ft for the G700. Bombardier also lists a typical landing distance of 2,237 ft. Hot days, high-elevation airports and heavy fuel loads lengthen these numbers, which can matter at shorter runways.
What drives a Global 7500 or G700 charter quote
We don't publish rates for these aircraft, because the same aircraft can be quoted very differently from one trip to the next. These are the factors that move a quote:
- Positioning. Where the aircraft sits before your trip matters. If it has to fly empty to reach you, or back to base afterward, that flying is part of the cost.
- Flight time and routing. Longer flights cost more. Winds, airways routing and any fuel stop change the flight time.
- Trip shape. One-way, round trip with the aircraft waiting, or multi-leg trips are priced differently. Wait days and crew overnights add up.
- Crew requirements. Very long missions can need additional crew under the operator's duty rules. The operator decides this.
- Dates and demand. Holidays and major events tighten availability for large-cabin jets.
- Airports and handling. Landing, parking, FBO handling, international permits and customs vary by airport and country.
- Extras. Catering, connectivity, winter de-icing and special requests are billed according to the operator's terms.
- The specific aircraft. Year, interior and configuration differ between tail numbers, as do operators' pricing.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the G700 if you want the most cabin volume and up to five living areas, or a layout with a grand suite and shower.
- Choose the Global 7500 if its four-zone layout with a master suite suits your group, or if the specific aircraft available for your dates fits better.
- Either works for most long nonstop trips. Availability, positioning and the individual aircraft's interior usually decide it.
Where does the G650 fit?
Many travelers also compare the Gulfstream G650 or G650ER with the Global 7500. We cover that in G650 vs Global 7500 and Gulfstream G650ER. For single-aircraft profiles, see Gulfstream G700, Global 7500 specs and the Global 7500 aircraft page. For the wider lineups, see Gulfstream vs Bombardier.
