Turks and Caicos is one of the easiest Caribbean trips by private jet. It is a short hop from South Florida and a nonstop flight from much of the East Coast. Nearly every private flight lands at Providenciales, home of Grace Bay. This guide covers the 2026–27 winter dates that affect private flights, distances from major US cities, which airport to use, Turks and Caicos arrival rules and the return to the United States.

Haute Jets is a private jet charter broker, not an operator. We arrange flights with Wyvern- and ARGUS-rated FAA Part 135 operators, with access to 3,500+ vetted aircraft. No jet cards and no membership fees. Most quotes arrive within 60 minutes.

From South Florida, almost any jet on a charter quote can make the trip. From the Northeast, Midwest and Texas, distances of about 1,100 to 1,500 nm mean the choice of jet matters, especially with a full cabin and winter headwinds on the way home. Arriving in Turks and Caicos

    • First landing at an international airport. The Turks and Caicos AIP requires aircraft to make their first landing and final departure at an international airport: Providenciales, Grand Turk or South Caicos.
    • Advance notice. A private flight’s flight plan counts as advance notice if authorities receive it at least two hours before arrival. Under the AIP, takeoffs and landings outside published hours need written permission from the Airports Authority, requested at least 48 hours ahead.
    • Charter permission. For non-scheduled commercial flights, the AIP says the operator applies to the Civil Aviation Authority at least 48 hours before landing. Your operator handles this, which is one reason to book early.
    • Paperwork. Customs requires a general declaration on arrival. The operator prepares it along with the rest of the flight paperwork.
    • Passports. Turks and Caicos Border Force says US, UK and Canadian passport holders need a passport valid for the length of the stay; other travelers should check the Border Force rules for their passport. GOV.UK says UK visitors are normally given up to 90 days and may be asked for a return or onward ticket.
    • Firearms and ammunition. GOV.UK warns that bringing in firearms or ammunition, even a stray bullet, is strictly prohibited without written approval from the Commissioner of Police, with a minimum 12-year prison sentence. The AIP says any firearms must be declared and handed to customs at the first port of entry. Check every bag before you fly.

Leaving Providenciales and returning to the US

Since January 13, 2025, departing passengers and bags on commercial (Part 135, non-private) aircraft with a maximum takeoff mass over 10,000 kg are screened by Turks and Caicos airport security officers, per Atlantic Aviation PLS. Allow a little extra time at the FBO on departure day.

For the flight home, US Customs and Border Protection requires an advance passenger manifest (APIS) for every international arrival. For private aircraft, federal rules require it no later than 60 minutes before departure from the foreign airport. The pilot must also get permission to land from the US port of arrival before leaving, and land at an airport where CBP processes arrivals. Flights from the Caribbean also fall under CBP’s rules for aircraft arriving from south of the US, which can require landing at a designated airport. Your operator handles all of this. Your job is to send accurate passport details for everyone on board when you book.

Planning tips for a Turks and Caicos winter trip

    • Book holiday weeks early. Atlantic PLS expects ramp congestion over Thanksgiving and from December 24 to January 3.
    • Mind the Saturday window. Through December 12, avoid 12:00–15:00 local on Saturdays if you are using Atlantic PLS.
    • Aim for daytime arrivals. Customs and immigration at PLS run 6 am – 8 pm, and FBO border control hours can be shorter.
    • Send passenger details early. Names, dates of birth and passport details are needed for both the Turks and Caicos arrival and the US return.
    • Combine islands. For a Bahamas stop on the same trip, see our Bahamas private jet guide.
