Why a midsize jet fits Miami–New York
Midsize jets sit between light jets and super-midsize jets in cabin size and baggage space. They are a common choice for small groups on East Coast trips. Miami-area departure airports
Miami-Opa Locka Executive (OPF). Miami-Dade designates OPF as a reliever to MIA. It has no landing fees and U.S. Customs on the airfield. FBOs include Atlantic Aviation, Fontainebleau Aviation, Jet Aviation and Signature Aviation.
Miami Executive (TMB). Formerly Kendall-Tamiami. Convenient for south Miami.
Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE). A city-owned general aviation airport with four FBOs and a 24-hour control tower.
Miami International private terminal (MIA). An option when you need the main airport.
New York-area arrival airports
Teterboro (TEB). Owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, TEB is a general aviation reliever with no scheduled airline service. It has two runways: 6-24 (6,013 ft) and 1-19 (7,000 ft). Three FBOs operate there: Atlantic Aviation, Jet Aviation and Signature (East, South and West).
Westchester County (HPN). Runways 16/34 (6,549 ft) and 11/29 (4,451 ft). FBOs include Atlantic Aviation (East and West), Million Air and Signature.
Republic (FRG) and Long Island MacArthur (ISP) serve Long Island. The JFK private terminal is another option.
What changes your quote
- Where the aircraft is based. If the jet has to fly empty to reach you, the operator prices that positioning into your quote.
- How long you stay. A same-week return is priced differently from two one-way trips.
- Peak dates. Holidays and major events (such as Art Basel week) tighten supply.
- Airport and FBO fees, catering and crew overnights.
